Jamie Cygielman will take on the role on Aug. 24.

Signet Jewelers has named veteran consumer brands executive Jamie Cygielman as the new president of Zales and Banter.
Akron, Ohio—Signet Jewelers has made another addition to its executive leadership team.

Jamie Cygielman has been appointed president of Zales and Banter (formerly Piercing Pagoda), succeeding Kecia Caffie, who left the company in April after 15 years.

Her first day with Signet will be Aug. 24 and she will be based in Dallas.

Cygielman has more than 30 years of experience working with consumer brands.

Previously, she was general manager and president of American Girl, a Mattel brand, and was then promoted to global head of dolls at Mattel Inc., which also owns Barbie.

Cygielman will report to Signet Jewelers CEO J.K. Symancyk, who has been serving as interim head of Zales and Banter since Caffie’s departure.

Signet has been working to differentiate among its various brands through marketing, digital experiences, and revamped store environments.

Zales debuted a new retail concept dubbed “The Edit” earlier this year as part of its rebrand.

In her new role, Cygielman will oversee Zales’ and Banter’s go-to-market strategies, with a focus on innovation, “distinctive” customer experiences, and deepening relationships with consumers.

“Both Zales and Banter have such a rich legacy and personal connection with their customers,” Cygielman said.

“I am thrilled to be joining Signet at such an exciting and important time and look forward to working alongside the Signet leadership team and both brand teams to honor that heritage while bringing fresh relevance to these iconic brands and creating new ways for customers to celebrate and express their personal style.”

Her appointment follows news of former Tiffany & Co. executive Pam Cloud joining Signet as the new president of Blue Nile.

“Jamie and Pam are accomplished leaders who understand how to unlock the potential of iconic brands through consumer insight, innovation, and disciplined execution,” Symancyk said.

“Their appointments bring important new capabilities to Signet as we position Zales and Banter for their next phase of growth and accelerate Blue Nile’s transformation.”
